When I run xev and hit F4, I don't get a reply from the program with a keycode and stuff, instead the window is minimized and when I maximize the window again there is no response from the key. I remapped F1- F3 and 'till this point everything is fine, but F4 does some kind of window minimization. To permanently change the interpretation, some keyboards support an Fn Lock function.
#Linux lite fn key plus#
So I decided to remap function keys with xev and xmodmap Press and hold that plus the F11l key to access the F11 function.

Some keyboards may require holding down the Fn key too. You see, I'm a programmer so it's really pain to me. Typical keys for entering the boot selection screen are F12, F11, F10, F9 or Del. I have researched in the old Murga puppy linux forum and in this the new. I can't use standard F1- F12 keys unless I hold down this stupid key. on my machine fn+F1 F2 F5 and F6 all work, but fn+F7 F8 F9 F10 F11 and F12 do not. Its keyboard has Fn key, which acts in my Ubuntu (with Fluxbox) as if it is always "active/pressed".

I have this issue with Lenovo Thinkcentre Edge.
